Redbay have been building high quality boats at their picturesque home in the North East Antrim coast since their foundation in 1977.
From their specialised traditional wooden-clinker fishing boats, they have developed into one of the finest manufacturers of fibreglass boats in the U.K. Many of their team are RNLI Crew for the local Redbay Lifeboat station; this is reflected in the experience behind their boats.
Redbay Boats is an ambitious company, always striving to stay ahead of the market in terms of product quality. As an example of their ability to lead in design development, they began building fibreglass sports boats a number of years ago. They then developed their own revolutionary hull design with the result being that the Stormforce RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) range has been both financially and critically an overwhelming success for the company.
Redbay manufacture RIBs varying in size from 6.1 metres to their prize 11 metre version. Redbays Cushendall base on the rugged waters of the north east coast of Northern Ireland is perfect Ribbing territory, allowing the team to test and refine their models on a continual basis, further improving a winning formula.
Redbay Boats has a team of highly skilled, experienced staff whose work in each stage of design, testing, manufacturing, selling and reviewing is of the highest quality available. Almost all of these stages are done right there on the coast base.
Due to continued success of the Stormforce RIBs range, it has been necessary to expand the workspace. A new workshop was built which has almost doubled the floorspace of the factory. This has also provided more secure storage of boats around this.
On the back of this expansion it has enabled Redbay to expand their production and offer their range of RIBs to a greater market than they had been able to previously. In order to do this successfully they decided to appoint someone who had an excellent dealer network, with experienced service backup.
Through Redbays contacts with Suzuki UK, they were introduced and recommended to Edward Pedley of MRL who is based in Southampton. MRL have a very good dealer network throughout the UK including the Channel Islands and are the UK importers of Stingher and Predator RIBs and Cigarette Offshore Powerboats.
After many months of talks and visits to each other’s premises Redbay appointed MRL as their UK distributor at the Southampton Boat show 2009.
This gives Redbay customers the choice to deal with their local dealer, who will then look after the RIB both for service or any warranty issues. However, the construction, build, and rigging will take place at the Redbay factory in Cushendall prior to delivery, ensuring consistency in build quality, and making sure that you receive your Redbay in tip top condition.
Redbay Boats is above all geared towards satisfying customer needs. Our emphasis on quality whilst striving to meet these customer requirements have ensured that both our client base and our product has continued to prosper each and every year. We at Redbay see the relationship with MRL and their dealers and a major way of being able to continue this growth.
